The Soweto Art & Craft Fair is not just an awesome event, but is also, actually, a non-profit organisation whose primary focus is the complete spectrum of visual arts; ranging from paintings, sculptures, fashion and everything beautiful the eye can see. The organisation works tirelessly as informal curators to get the works of artists from Soweto into the homes of art appreciators. Aside from the fair, in the past we have successfully sold artworks in galleries located in prime neighbourhoods such as Melrose Arch in Johannesburg.
The vision of the Soweto Art and Crafts Fair is to see local art/craft communities create a sustainable market by 2020 that will grow and enhance the artists and crafters business and lives. In the long term, we aim to establish the Soweto Art and Crafts Fair, within seven years, as Africa’s largest and most successful organisation of its kind, attracting Artists/Crafters, performers and visitors from all over Africa and the world. The mission of the Soweto Arts and Craft Fair is to develop, promote and assist local artists and crafters.
